Fan of The Dunts or Spyres? The Sun Day are the newest must add to your playlists
Born out of the desire to do something more in lockdown, The Sun Day are the latest to burst onto Scotlands music scene. Hailing from Aberdeen the band take inspiration from a number of genres such as britpop, indie and psychedelia and have clear influences from bands such as Oasis, My Bloody Valentine and Jimi Hendrix - combining this with grungier guitar, the band creates a unique sound as if The Beatles and Nirvana had a love child.
The group consists of lead man Connor Ritchie on vocals and rhythm guitar, Luke Doyle on lead guitar, Benji Travis on Bass and Ralf Beswick on drums as well as newly announced member Aidan on bass.
The Sun Day, with their melodic acoustic guitar and the grit and drive of something that makes you want to move, create songs that feel nostalgic whilst also being different from the rest.

Their newest single ‘Enjoy The Day’ is no exception to their sound with dreamy electric guitar riffs and a strong drum beat contrasted with softer acoustic guitar and the vocals, the song combines the two contrasting genres of psychedelia and rock and gives off the same refreshed and bright feeling as summer does and brings on the familiar nostalgia of spending the summer with your friends as a teen. Perfect for summer playlists or as the soundtrack to relaxing drinking beers with your friends in someone’s garden on a lazy sunday.
"Enjoy the Day" is available to stream and download across all streaming platforms now.
